You need to make sure you know where to go to in Rio. It will safe you a lot of money, frustration and time. Rio is a good place to start surfing. The best place to buy a surf board in Rio is Galeria River, located right after the fort in Copacabana beach, just before the entrance to Arpoador. You’le find the best soft tops, lip stick and long boards here, all at good rates. You’ll also find the xtr and quicksilver surfboards. The people tend to be very sympathic and most speak English.
